ProCoat NZ: A Trade Business That Owns Its Corner of the Internet

10 July 2026 · 5 min read

Most trade businesses get their work one of two ways: word of mouth, or a listing on a lead-generation directory that takes a monthly fee and a cut of every job it sends through. The directory owns the ranking. The directory owns the review score. The directory owns the relationship with the customer before the tradesperson ever speaks to them. Stop paying, and you disappear.

ProCoat NZ are licensed Resene ROCKCOTE applicators based in Tauranga, doing exterior plastering, re-cladding, and high-access work across the Bay of Plenty. They didn't need another directory listing. They needed a home.

The site we built does a few things that matter.

A texture visualiser
Customers can browse plaster finishes and colours directly on the site — not by scrolling through a PDF catalogue or waiting for a sample to arrive. They pick a finish, see how it reads, and arrive at the first conversation already informed. That changes the quality of every quote interaction.

Accreditation front and centre
ProCoat are licensed applicators. That's not a minor detail — it's the difference between a finish that holds its warranty and one that doesn't. The site makes that credential impossible to miss, so the customer asking "are you licensed?" has already had the question answered before they pick up the phone.

A quote request that actually works
A clear, simple form that collects the right information upfront. Job type, location, scope. By the time ProCoat calls, they already have context. No back-and-forth asking questions that should have been captured on day one.

Search traffic they own
The site ranks for the searches that matter in the Bay of Plenty. That traffic goes to ProCoat's page, not to a directory they're sharing with five competitors. When someone in Tauranga searches for an exterior plasterer, the first conversation is with ProCoat directly — not filtered through a platform that's also showing them the next three results.

The outcome isn't complicated. A trade business with a professional, functional web presence — built on infrastructure they own, optimised for how their customers actually find them, with a quote pipeline that doesn't depend on anyone else's algorithm.

They turned up, they do the work, they communicate. The website does the same.
